SYSVOL is a file system folder
that stores files that must be available and synchronized among all domain
controllers. SYSVOL contains the NETLOGON share, Group Policy settings, and
File Replication service (FRS) staging directories and files. SYSVOL is
required for Active Directory to function properly.
